The report assigns each city an overall retirement score based on six factors:
Housing affordability, Desirability, Happiness, Quality of healthcare, Retiree taxes and the Job market. (CNBC)
Only 9% of all existing mortgages in the U.S. were taken out with a rate of above 6%, according to data from the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Around 23% of all mortgages have a rate of less than 3%, and 38% homeowners have a mortgage rate of between 3% and 4%. (Marketwatch)
Robert Schiller says he is “not panicking,” saying part of the recent spike in home prices is “just seasonal,” noting that prices typically go up in the summer. (CNBC)
